What's Happening @ the Appleton Public Library

December has arrived and we have a lineup of fun and interesting events going on at the Appleton Public Library. Stop by and visit the Festival of Trees, on display the entire month of December. We have brought back the Elf on the Shelf, so children may stop by and look for the Elf and receive a sweet treat. We are also offering 4 Weeks in December 4 Krafts  4 Kids. We will feature a new craft each week, stop by and craft away. Krafts are available when the library is open.

New Reads: “Small Fry” by Lisa Brennan-Jobs is this authors life story. , “Killing the SS” by Bill O’Reilly and Martin Dugard brings us the hunt for the worst war criminals in history. , “You Don’t Own Me” by Mary Higgins Clark and Alafair Burke bring us another page turning mystery to enjoy. , “Master of his Fate” by Barbara Taylor Bradford is the next in the House of Falconer series., “Homeward Hound” by Rita Mae Brown brings us another new mystery featuring some canine critters on the case.

December Events:

Festival of Trees up all the month of December at the Appleton Civic Center.

Elf on the Shelf, is hidden all month for children to seek and receive a sweet treat.

Saturday, December 1st @ 10:30a.m. Gingerbread House building, supplies included, registration is required.

Tuesday, December 4th @ 6:30 p.m. is a Book Art Event. Creating unique ornaments out of book pages.

Wednesdays in December 5, 12, 19, & 26 Coloring for Adults, all supplies included for your relaxation.

Thursday, December 13th @ 1p.m. LIVE WELL, AGE WISELY a group that talks about a variety of age related topics.

Thursday, December 13th @ 3-5p.m., ABE/Computer classes with Steve Sterud. No registration needed, just stop in with all your questions.

Monday, December 17th @ 5:00p.m.-Coffee, cookies and Chat Book club– “The Christmas Shoppe” by Melody Carlson. Pick up a copy today.

Monday & Tuesday, December 24 & 25– CLOSED for the Christmas Holiday.


Wednesday, December 26th @ 3:30-4:30p.m. is LEGO club for grades 2-6. Join us and be creative.

Register your child age 0-5 for our 1000 books before Kindergarten program. Read books and earn prizes while enjoying your time together.

We are going green as of May 15th, 2013!

The Appleton Public Library, a member of the Pioneerland Library system, is going green effective May 15, 2013. What does that mean? We are collecting e-mail addresses from our library patrons and sending out overdue notices via e-mail rather than through regular U.S. mail. Please make sure we have the most current e-mail address for you on your next visit to the library.
